As part of their History learning about the Romans, Year 4 pupils enjoyed an exciting ‘Roman Day’ in school. The day brought their topic to life as pupils explored what life was like in Roman times, with a particular focus on the Roman army and its role in the empire.

Children learned about Roman soldiers, armour and battle formations, and had the opportunity to create their own Roman shields and standards. The day was a great way to deepen pupils’ understanding of the topic through practical, hands-on activities, while encouraging creativity and teamwork.
