Primary School Places
Applications to mainstream primary academies
If you wish to apply for a place for your child at a mainstream primary or secondary school within Kirklees, applications should be made through Kirklees Council’s School Admissions service. The council’s admissions website provides guidance on the application process and allows parents and carers to apply online.

Please note that to complete an online application, you will need to create or log in to a My Kirklees account.

Admission appeals for mainstream academies
If your child has not been offered a place at your preferred school, you have the right to appeal the decision. Appeals for Kirklees schools are managed by Kirklees Council and must be submitted using the online School Admissions Appeal Form via the Kirklees Parent Portal.
