Thank you for visiting our academy website. Reinwood Junior School is a welcoming and inclusive school serving children aged 7 to 11 in the Oakes area of Huddersfield. The school provides a calm, purposeful learning environment in which pupils feel safe, supported and encouraged to achieve their best. Staff work closely with pupils and families to ensure that each child is known as an individual and is supported to make strong progress throughout their time at the school.
Teaching and learning at Reinwood Junior School is carefully planned and structured to build knowledge and skills progressively. Pupils benefit from a broad and balanced curriculum that places strong emphasis on english and mathematics, while also offering rich learning opportunities across science, the humanities, the arts, computing and physical education. Lessons are engaging and appropriately challenging, supporting pupils of all abilities to develop confidence, independence and resilience in their learning.
The school places high importance on inclusion and wellbeing. Pupils with additional needs are identified promptly and supported effectively so they can access learning alongside their peers. Positive relationships between staff and pupils underpin the school’s approach, ensuring children feel listened to and supported both academically and emotionally. Behaviour across the school is positive, and pupils demonstrate respect for one another and for their learning environment.
